Annual Veterans Day Celebration presented by Athens High School Leadership Committee
11/10/2025
The Athens High School Leadership Committee proudly hosted its Annual Veterans Day Celebration on Friday, November 7, 2025. This year’s event welcomed 12 new Veteran Honorees for their dedicated service to our nation.
The ceremony brought together students, staff, families, and community members to honor the courage, sacrifice, and commitment of local veterans. Athens High School students played an active role in the event, continuing a cherished community tradition of respect and gratitude.
Mayor Chris Reichert delivered a heartfelt address, recognizing the contributions of the honorees and the importance of honoring those who have served.
“Let me leave you with one final quote, from President Ronald Reagan: “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same.” Veterans Day is our chance to do just that – to celebrate the bravery of those who served, and to remind ourselves that heroism comes in many forms. So today, as we stand together let’s not just remember our veterans – let’s commit to living lives worthy of their sacrifice. Thank you and may we always honor those who served.”
